Z28 is the most famous Chevrolet RPO (regular production option) code ever. No other option code has become so synonymous with high performance

Other option codes have been used for well-known packages such as Z22 (Rally Sport) and Z27 (Super Sport), but the option names/descriptions became famous, not the RPO number.

An original Z28 muscle car is now gracing our showroom, this one in fair condition on the exterior with some dents and dings, mixed with slight rust in certain areas, the original engine, and a custom interior.

Exterior
Bathed in red this 2-door coupe has dual wide white stripes racing up the hood, then continuing to the rear deck and spoiler. Some dents can be noted, overspray on a few areas of the paint, and chips throughout. The front bumper was hit, and as a result the rubber strip in the middle has begun to separate from the plastic bumper. This also has affected the fit of the driver’s lower front quarter. A few chunks have been taken out of the rear rubber strip. On the door surrounds just above and on the rockers at the back of the doors we note some earlier invasive rust. All window trim is black and in good condition. Rally wheels are all around and retain their shine.

Interior
Some newer seats have been put in that now have velour inserts, and black vinyl bolsters. Seats are all good condition with front buckets and a rear 2+2 setup. Door panels appear original and are clean and tight. An original dash fronts the passenger compartment, and has a plastic faux leather looking panel for the instrument cluster. Instruments are slightly fogged on the front plastic but remain clean and original. An Alpine AM/FM/Single CD aftermarket radio has been added. Black carpet covers the floors and is in good condition. The headliner has begun to sag particularly in the center where the dome light is attached.

Drivetrain
A numbers matching 350ci V8 with lots of patina and some surface rust and corrosion, all original graces the engine bay. A 4-barrel high rise intake is seen and a T10 4-speed manual transmission, not original to this car, can be noted.

Undercarriage
Plenty of surface rust, and areas of past repairs. Power disc brakes are on the front, and power drum brakes on the rear.

Drive-Ability
This car started quickly and ran smoothly. It shifted smoothly and ran fairly quietly. A/C is there but not connected.
