This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe is a fresh restoration with an eye-catchingtwin-turbo LS3 and beautiful Admiral Blue paint

The build combined custom fabrication everywhere with attention to detail for an impressive build that can be shown, daily driven, or tracked. The car was finished in 2022 and has just enoug hmiles to check for bugs and complete some finishing touches.

Engine

The engine is an aluminum LS3 at 416 cubic inches (6.8L) with all forged internals and thick deck AFR aluminum heads. A twin turbo system uses custom TIG welded stainless exhaust manifolds, Precision turbos, twin Turbo smart BOV and Waste gates, and a huge Treadstone intercooler. Engine is controlled with a Corvette ECM. No emissions equipment is installed, and a Mighty Mouse catch can is plumbed to a valve cover and intake. The serpentine belt has typical occasional LS3 belt squeal. Exhaust is all stainless with straight through mufflers. Fuelis held in a 20-gallon aluminum tank with foam and a baffled pickup. Fuel delivery uses an external mounted Aeromotive A1000 pump. From there Aeromotive pre and post filters, boost referenced regulator, aluminum hard lines, and braided hoses, go to a FAST intake, with InjectorDynamics ID1000 Injectors. Cooling is accomplished with an oversized Griffin aluminum radiator and dual electric fans. Initial dyno tune for break in made 583 rwhp or ~700 crank hp on 4.5 psi. More boost is possible if desired.

Drivetrain

Power is fed through a T56 Magnum close ratio 6 speed transmission via a McLeod RST twin disc clutch. A custom aluminum driveshaft connects to a 9″ Ford rear with 3.89 gears and TrueTrac limited slip. Power steering pump was adjusted to match output pressure to the rack and pinion. Four-wheel disc brakesuse Wilwood 6 piston front calipers and 4 piston rear calipers with parking brake. Dual master cylinders allow adjustable front/rear brake bias. Brake lines are Nickel-Copper hard lines with braided hoses at the wheels.

Suspension

Suspension was upgraded with an aftermarket front subframe with C5 Corvette A-arms and adjustable QA1 coil overs. In the rear truck arms with coil springs and Carerra shocks put power down smoothly.

Exterior

The shell was blasted with any rust 100% repaired with new metal and all seams sealed. The body is straight and smooth with excellent gaps. Color is Admiral Blue (also called Opulent blue). Body work and paint was done professionally using quality materials and extra deep clear coat. The SS hood was smoothed and front and rear spoilers are both installed. One reproduction wiper arm has a bad spline and needs to be replaced. Front fenders are from 67 without side markers and the fuel filler has been smoothed. Wheels are polished aluminum Budnik M5s. Rubber is 275/40ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KD front and 315/35ZR17 Nitto NT555 G2 rear.

Interior

Body modifications included custom inner fenders, huge rear wheel tubs, 6 point TIG welded chromoly cage, custom dash, recessed firewall, and raised transmission tunnel. Seating is two Corbeau reclining buckets on sliders with 4-point retractable harnesses. A headliner will need to be installed, if desired. Comforts include power windows, Vintage Air heat and A/C, dimming rear view mirror, and remote mounted late model wiper motor with park and delay. Steering is managed with an aftermarket 3 spoke wheel and stainless tilt column. Black carpet is installed front to back over lightweight Dynamat sound deadening. Black door panels and sail panels are fitted along with new aluminum door sills.

Electrical

Wirings all new including the body, under dash, and engine harnesses. An Optima red top battery is mounted in the trunk and connected with heavy gauge cables. The LED headlights are a huge upgrade for appearance and safety. A master kill switch can be setup for access externally at the rear if needed for track use. Autometer gauges include tach, speedo, fuel level, fuel pressure, voltage, coolant temp, oil temp, oil pressure, boost, a dual wide-bands. Carling rockers witches for windows and other functions are center mounted. All gauges and switches are installed with custom black anodized aluminum panels. Grounds are wired to ground blocks for reliability.

Other details

Original Fisher body tag is included. This Camaro was originally paint code HH (Grecian Green) and Trim code 712 (Black vinyl). Restoration just completed in 2022. This car shows as a fresh restoration with everything brand new and always draws compliments. Part invoices and manuals are included. Total original miles unknown with 1,010 miles since restoration.
