This bold 1971 Chevrolet Camaro Restomod has well-built fuel-injected V8 power, an overdrive transmission, and an upgraded interior
It is the kind of total build that’s clean, means, and coordinated to deliver an impressive total package.
The white paint really grabs your attention, doesn’t it? This may seem like a basic hue, but this one does it a bit better. It’s more comprehensive than others with details like the front splitter color-matched. There’s an extra vivid style that makes for a nice canvas to have the orange stripe painted on top. And don’t you just love how those racing steaks remind you of the iconic 1969 Pace Car? (it’s not the last time you’ll see this kind of inspiration.) And we love how this coupe has been upgraded with all the best classic features, this includes the split bumper RS front end, SS badging, and a three-piece rear spoiler. Plus, there are some nice upgrades that announce this is an upgraded restomod. You see it in the tall cowl hood and the modern US Mags alloys that have a 17/18-inch front/rear stagger give it a terrific aggressive stance.
When you open the door, the orange houndstooth cloth inserts in the seats are an instant standout. It continues the style inspired by the 1969 Pace Car. But the 2nd gen Camaro did an even better job of focusing the interior on the drive, and you feel that the moment you slip into the high-back bucket seat. The NK4 sports steering wheel, the position of the horseshoe shifter, and the crisp upgraded AutoMeter gauges package are all there to engage you.
Under the hood is a terrific powerhouse done with terrific upgrades. It’s an LS-based 5.3-liter LM7 motor. While a modern fuel-injected powerhouse already makes for a nice restomod, it’s just the base here. This has been upgraded further with a Spectre dual inlet air intake, a Professional Products Power Plus aluminum intake, anodized fuel rails, dual electric cooling fans, and headers feeding into a dual exhaust and Flowmasters. The 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission is stout enough to handle the power, and at the same time, it can also deliver overdrive comfort. Power steering, power brakes, front discs, and modern sport tires complete this well-rounded package for solid any-time driving.
This Camaro delivers on exactly what you want a restomod to be. It’s got terrific details inside and out, and there’s a healthy and hardy powerhouse under the hood. And nothing here gets too fancy to keep you from driving it because the best restomods are meant to be fully enjoyed.
